I do not know whether Lord Ripon has finally decided on the salary of the appointment but I would suggest that we accept the figure given by the Governor, $4000 dollars. A substantial decrease has been settled after careful consideration. I do not see any good to be gained but rather the reverse in keeping the matter open.
